Averting the Severity of the Decree with Beth Huppin

No charge

Our liturgy says that t’shuvah, t’fillah, and tzedakah can avert the severity of “the decree.” What could this possibly mean in reality? Is there really “a decree?” Can the “severity” really be averted? In preparation for the High Holidays we will examine these questions through a remarkable Hasidic text. Everyone is welcome.

lovehumilityIn a world that seems more polarized than ever, at a time when fingers are pointed in all directions, how can we bring more love and humility into the world?  Together we will look at texts that ask us to become more aware of our own behavior. How can we be in the world in a way that doesn’t add more anger, and, ultimately, more pain?  How can we avoid self-righteous and possibly counter-productive responses to events that we find troubling?

Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend.  No prior knowledge is necessary.
There is no charge. Donations are always gratefully accepted.
