Hanukkah 2022
Hannukah singing - Shabbat morning of Hanukkah, December 24, at 1 pm after lunch.
What's better than Hanukkah singing? Join us for an hour of hannukah singing after lunch. We'll have copies of favorite Hanukkah songs and feel free to send Rabbi Borodin your favorite songs in advance so we can have copies available.
Pre-Hanukkah Family Havdalah and Concert
December 10th:
5:30 Havdalah + Concert, 6:15 Light dinner + Hanukkah activities
Join other CBS families (with kids ages 0-8ish) to get ready for Hanukkah! We’ll begin with Havdalah and a concert with Jewish music superstar Josh Niehaus, followed by dinner and some fun activities to get ourselves ready to celebrate Hanukkah. Advance registration (deadline 12/4) is required so that we prepare an appropriate amount of food.
Dressing in pajamas and/or kitschy Hanukkah-wear is encouraged; bringing diapers to donate to Byrd Barr’s food pantry is also encouraged!
- Cost is $10/person, $30 family maximum
- If you're able, please make a donation to provide a scholarship for a family who needs it
Matanot and Chaverim Hanukkah Fest

6:30 - 7:30pm
2nd-5th graders-we have a great pre-Hanukah event just for you. We will start with a yummy dinner with special Hanukkah foods followed by an opportunity make your own Hanukkah candles and decorate and eat a special Hanukkah cookie. See you there! Cost: $12. Please register here.
USY (9th-12th Grades) Hanukkah Party

Join USY for a Hanukkah Party on Sunday, December 11th from 7-9pm at Congregation Beth Shalom. We will make (and eat) sufganiyot (jelly donuts), play fun Hanukah-themed games, and, as always, have a great time. You can sign up here. This event costs $5. We can't wait to see you there.
Religious School Hanukkah Festival
Sunday, December 11th 12-12:30pm
Join the CBS Religious School for our upcoming Hanukkah Celebration. Religious school classes will meet as usual from 9:30am-12pm, and at 12pm we will join together in the social hall to celebrate Hanukkah together with special treats, games, and crafts. The special event will also include a few activities run by our 1st and 2nd grade students as they conclude their Hanukkah units. We invite parents, siblings, etc to join us! Please RSVP here. Night Before Hanukkah- Young Professionals Event
Saturday, 12/17 from 5:30 - 7:00pm
Make the sufganiyot (jelly donuts) of your dreams- fried to golden brown perfection, filled and topped just like the ones sold in Israel. This is also a great opportunity to get to know other CBS young professionals as well as Liel, our amazing Shinshinit. Please register so that we purchase the correct amount of ingredients.
