The Road to Freedom: Obstacles and Experiences
After Incarceration

  • After effects of incarceration
  • Ethics of and responsibility to the formerly incarcerated
  • Experience of post-incarceration — personal stories
  • What we can do

With guest speakers from Civil Survival, and using texts and questions compiled in the Jewish Theological Seminary’s The Ethical Life curriculum, we will explore the reality of incarceration and its after-effects, Jewish perspectives on punishment, incarceration, and ostracism.

“Civil Survival engages apathetic voting blocs to understand how voting and political involvement can personally benefit them. We provide basic legal life skills education in community-based programs and then we motivate people to engage in the political process to make sure that the laws help them and their families live a full and productive life.”  — CivilSurvival.com

This program is part of our pre-Passover learning – an opportunity to engage with the concept of freedom. We are grateful to Civil Survival for its partnership on this program. All are welcome to attend one or both sessions. There is no charge, but your RSVP is appreciated.
