Judaism and Black Lives Matter
November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until December 9, 2020
Judaism and Black Lives Matter: Our posture and positioning in the Movement for Black Lives (with Adam Gillman)
We will be exploring traditional and contemporary texts, both Jewish and non, as well as the spirit, to prepare ourselves for engaging in the hands-on and inner work of racial justice. As our society and community awaken to the fact and ensuring that Black lives matter, we will engage in the ongoing conversation of traditional text study along with present-day sources.
This course series will be led by Adam Gillman (he, him, his). who grew up at Beth Shalom and is eager to build connections once again. Adam is currently studying to become a rabbi at JTS along with a MA in experiential Jewish education. As a cisgender male, engaging in the work of dismantling racism goes hand in hand with Jewish tradition and practice.
All fall 2020 classes are virtual.
