An Evening with Prof. Ilan Troen, Director (Emeritus) of Ben-Gurion Research Institute

December 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

How American Can Israel Become?

Event co-sponsored by American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev; StandWithUs Northwest; and The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle

Prof. Ilan Troen served as director of the Ben-Gurion Research Institute from 1983 to 1987 and remains closely associated with it to this day. He is currently Stoll Family Professor of Israel Studies, emeritus, at Brandeis University, and is the founding Editor of Israel Studies, a Ben-Gurion Research Institute publication.

Prof. Troen will use the Declaration of Independence of Israel and the United States to explain what is shared and what is unique about both societies. Given the frequent critique of Israel by Americans, including Jews, there will be attention to how much change in Israel can be reasonably expected.

Admission is free.  Dessert reception to follow program.
